5. Why am I not receiving the SMS verification code for Plusgram/Telegram/电报/纸飞机?

In mainland China, many users with +86 numbers encounter issues receiving verification codes. This is because Telegram has excluded certain regional phone numbers. Therefore, registering with a domestic phone number is generally not feasible. There are usually two methods to use Telegram in mainland China:

Intermittent Attempts: Although it is difficult to receive verification codes with +86 numbers, it is sometimes possible. We suggest trying once a day and logging in immediately upon receiving the code. If prompted to set an email during login, please do so, as future logins may require email verification.

Purchase a Foreign Account: This typically involves purchasing an overseas account, which is usually long-lasting. This can help with dual-contact issues and better protect your privacy, preventing personal information leaks. Regardless of the account type, avoid sending spam.

Special Notes After Exchanging for an Overseas Account on the Platform:

1. After successful login, we will no longer provide SMS verification/recovery services for this number.

2. Do not log out of the logged-in number (you can log this number on other devices).

3. We ensure each number is sold only once. For your account security, set up two-step verification after the first successful login.

4. Once the account is sold and logged in, all bans, including account suspensions, are at your own risk. Please comply with Telegram’s official usage terms.

Importance of Verification Codes

Telegram sends verification codes to enhance account security and ensure the login owner possesses the phone number. Verification codes are one-time-use and expire after entry, greatly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Common Issues and Suggestions

Signal Interference: Weak mobile network signals may prevent receiving the verification code. Try requesting the code in a better signal area.

Ensure Correct Phone Number: Incorrectly entering the phone number is a common reason for not receiving the code. Verify the number before requesting the code.

Verification Code Sent to Other Device: If logged into Telegram on another device, the code may be sent directly to that device.

Avoid Virtual Numbers: Telegram may not support account registration with virtual numbers.

Check Carrier Settings: Some carriers may treat Telegram messages as spam. If you experience issues, try using the phone option to receive the code.

Avoid Frequent Requests: Requesting the code multiple times in a short period may lead to temporary suspension of code delivery to prevent abuse.

Check Internet Connection: Unstable internet connections can also cause verification code reception issues.

If persistent issues occur, contact Telegram support or check forums and communities for more solutions.
